My name is Yasmine Young, I am from Oahu, Hawaii but based in Savannah Georgia. I am a visual artist at the Savannah College of art and Design. I am very passionate about my work, which conveys my cultural identity as a native Hawaiian, and my perspective of the world through my eyes. My Story
Coming from multiple cultural backgrounds, eight to be exact I love creating visual art based on my many cultural identities, feelings, opinions, perspectives, and personal experiences. Every art tells a story, I want to share with the world, my many stories I have yet to share. I have always been fascinated with art from when I was small but to be exact, fashion has pulled my interest one way or another. Fashion is my outlet to express myself without having to use words, which comes naturally to me. That is why I will always live by " Actions speak louder than words". As I continue my artistic journey, I am slowly discovering new techniques and experiences, that add to my interests in fashion such as learning new textiles, such as knitting, and creating repeat patterns are all one of my many growing passions!
